The first step in the analysis is the reconstruction of the scanpath that is graphically presented on each of the screen capture explored by the subject. The scanpath can be defined as a sequence of fixations and saccades. Saccades are the rapid eye movements that shift the gaze from one position to the other, and fixation is the interval between two successive saccades during which the central nervous system can retrieve information.
