Analysis between pages
The Between pages analysis has been conducted to verify if the structure and the organization of the material can influence the learning behaviour during navigation. Taking into account this goal, pages and RoIs with homogeneous content have been chosen to be compared among each other.

Kipling Case Study
The statistical analysis has produced significant differences both for some pages and for some RoIs. This variable’s values could be interpreted as indexes of non homogeneity among pages and RoIs of the same type. Correlation and Regression analyses have clarified how the structure of the material influences the learning strategy adopted by the subjects during navigation. From data analysis it is possible to identify two different types of strategies: a quick and wide scan of pages or RoIs, typical for pages without a great amount of text, or a second strategy characterized by the focalization on a specific region of the page. This is a typical behaviour for pages containing text and elements difficult to identify. Therefore, the quantitative analysis seems to suggest that the lack of homogeneity within the e-learning system affects the level of effectiveness and lead subjects to adopt a not useful strategy of navigation.

English Case Study
For most of the variables analysed, the first page accessed after the introduction page has been deeper processed by users. They need to explore this page in order to familiarise themselves with the structure of the course and the page, to understand where the links, the content and any other elements are. In the next pages they will target more quickly the useful information.
